An explosion has killed 19 people and left 50 injured after the blast went off at an Ariana Grande concert at the Manchester Arena.

Police have confirmed they are treating the incident as terror related. Hospitals are reporting that the injured have injuries consistent with shrapnel from a nail bomb or similar incendiary device.

Video of people running from the scene is now all over social media.

No motive have been given, nor any group blamed, that will follow in the hours to come.

We do not know at this stage just where in the arena the explosion occurred. There is no confirmation of whether or not this was a suicide attack.

What security was in place? Were the concert goers searched on entry? All these details will now be scrutinised as the police try to build a picture of what has happened.

This was no drill, this was a pop concert that families were attending. Emergency services are trying to assist the walking wounded at the scene.

This comes hot on the heels of recent attacks in London but with 19 dead it is the deadliest attack in the UK since the 7/7 “attacks”.

With an election cycle in full swing, Manchester & cities across the UK will go into near lockdown with increased numbers of armed police hitting the streets in the hours & days to come.

THERE ARE REPORTS OF A SECOND DEVICE THAT IS ABOUT TO BE DEALT WITH IN A CONTROLLED EXPLOSION.

Thoughts & prayers to all those affected.
